Lead With Character is run by our volunteer Trip Leader (Steve Maye), our Ministry Director (Mike Parker) and a team of volunteers.
Steve Maye
Steve is the volunteer Trip Leader and primary teacher at Lead with Character. In his day job, Steve is the managing partner of Drake Capital, LLC—a regional real estate investment company. He has served as president of three companies as well as one non-profit organization. Steve has studied and taught the concepts of principled leadership since he was a cadet at The Citadel. While serving there as the Executive Officer of the Corps of Cadets and being trained by some of the U.S. military’s best leaders he became fascinated with the subject of leadership. Steve also has a burden for men in the Church to be the kind of men God has designed them to be in order to help their families and other organizations flourish. Steve and his wife Peggy have four grown children, four grandchildren, and live in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Mike Parker
Mike is Lead with Character's Ministry Director - working throughout the year and on the trips to run the ministry with excellence. Mike has a broad spectrum of leadership experience which includes many years of marketing and management with a Fortune 50 multi-national corporation as well as operating smaller business entities. He has invested much of his adult life in the development and encouragement of Christian men and boys. Additionally, Mike is a veteran of the United States Navy and a graduate of UNC-Charlotte. Paul Mulner
Paul is the volunteer chaplain for Lead With Character. Paul works for Atticus Technology, a technology start-up that connects non-profits with potential major donors. He and his wife Daphne have three children, live in Atlanta, and are part of the core team at Covenant of Grace. His son Nathan, an eight-year veteran of these trips, also volunteers, serving as the staff's aide-de-camp.
Doug Parker
